History of Father John Eisen Knights of Columbus
Council #1799, Marshfield, Wisconsin
Eighty-seven years ago on May 16,
1915, the initiation of a charter class of 39 men and transfer
of 19 men from other councils marked the origin of Marshfield's
John Eisen Council No. 1799, Knights of Columbus.
From this small beginning the Council
today has expanded into the city's foremost Catholic fraternity
with membership exceeding eleven hundred.
The council was named Father John
Eisen, who in the 1890's built St, Johns Catholic Church and Rectory
and remained as pastor of the parish until his death May 20, 1907.
The first Grand Knight was Albert
G. Felker, a well-known local industrialist and a Knight of St.
Gregory.

In 1968 a new clubhouse was built at 300 West Upham
Street on land donated by Doris Rembs and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Felhofer.
This was given as a memorial to the late John Rembs.
Elmer Schreiber was our first president of the
John Eisen Holding Corporation in our new Club House. Mike Gonering
is currently serving as the corporation president.
Paul Konrardy is our present Grand Knight. Our
present club manager is Bob Hannum, Steve Manlick, is our chef and
manager of the kitchen. One should note that because of our excellent
management, leadership, excellent cooks, bartenders, and our wonderful
Ladies Auxiliary who do the serving and waitressing at our dinners,
we are able to keep up with improvements and redecorating of the
interior of our clubhouse.
State officers from our council in 1936 was John
Stauber as State Treasurer and Father Peter J. Leketas as State
